Wooden Yo-Yos, Deer Portraits, And Solar Motorbikes

Fawn and Forest has some cool yet environmentally sensitive products for kids and adults alike.

All of these items are available from Fawn & Forest, a site that carries many baby, child and youth items I’ve seen before, but that is itself new to me. The site design is really nice, which does a ton for the items themselves.

I’ll leave you to hunt and peck for items of interest, but the following jumped out at me.

Creepy Or Soothing, It’s All About Perspective

Hidamari head bobbing figures totally creep me out but might calm your kids.

Sorry for the budget post tonight (this morning?) but I’m on the road and even busier than usual. Some may argue that this isn’t really a child’s toy, but I have to believe that anything this consistent and repetitive must have some calming potential.

What am I talking about?

Hidamari and Nohohon toys. Those portly, round headed smiling, solar powered toys that nod as long as the sun will allow. I have to admit that I find them creepy, but I attribute that in part to the fact that our local Hidamari vendor maintains a huge wall of them in clear cases that all smile and nod in time together. I find it all very overwhelming :)

Here are some shops that offer them:
