Game. Cutlery. Game! Cutlery!

Snack and Stack, this cutlery connects like lego so its harder to lose.

Fork, knife and spoon with silicone handles made to mimic lego bricks. If your kids don’t find these entertaining I’m sure you will. Primary colours and the ability to be fixed to one another make these easy to find and keep track of.

Unfortunately I’m not sure where you buy them. The website suggests Amazon, but I don’t see it on their site.

If You’re Going To Inconvenience The Teacher, You May As Well Entertain Him

Was thinking about sick notes this afternoon for some reason. I’ll chalk it up to Friday impatience combined with an early start to the day and allergies :)

Anyway, I figure if you’re going to write a sick note either for yourself or for your kid the least you can do is take the time to come up with something original and entertaining, no?

If you need a light push in the right direction you may want to have a peek at these sick notes supposedly written by American parents in a Tennessee school district.

I’m pretty sure these were created as a joke, because I remember the one that begins as “Please excuse pedro” from when I was a kid. Anyway, no matter… enjoy!

This is where babies come from... before the good stuff happens.

Well here it is in more explicit detail. Ovulation at the moment that it occurs. The website speaks to the event in much greater detail, but next time your child asks you where they came from you can show them these photos instead of stumbling for the right words :)

A German Lady Just Gave Birth To Twins… With A Twist

White father, black mother, white son, black son... this will be interesting.

The father in this story is white and of Germanic descent while the mother is of West African descent. I’m guessing the twins are fraternal as one is white like dad while the other has dark skin (and a whole lot of hair) like his mother.

They say that twinning where one sibling is one color and the second is another is rare… and I find it easy to believe that. That said, if I were in the husband’s place I might just opt for a blood test to make sure someone else didn’t slide into home plate.

Friends of ours have identical girls and are getting pretty tired of being stopped constantly so people can look and coo at them… something tells me they have nothing on what this couple is about to go through. Or the kids for that matter!

Kids Won’t Leave The Couch And Exercise? They Don’t Need To.

Bikeforest.com where the couchbike hits the road and kids learn that they don't have to leave the couch to have fun.

Worried your beautiful little baby will get hooked on Wii or PS3 before she even learns to walk? I`m willing to bet your concern is not misplaced. Kids are getting fatter and video games are getting more addictive. Couches? Well couches are just as comfy as they’ve always been.

The kids over at Bikeforest.com have an interesting solution with a custom project they’ve designed and proven – their couch bike. This is no temperamental prototype folks.. this is the real deal as far as chain-driven couches are concerned.

If you find yourself in south western Ontario look them up and spring for a few of the strangest rentals you and your kids are likely to encounter during this lifetime.

Age Your Baby In Seconds

She may never grow a natural moustache, but your little lady can hit Kidrobot up for a surrogate.

What is it parent’s always say… “they grow up so fast.”

Shawnimals provides a plush avenue to accelerate your child’s growth without drugs, hormones or genetic mutation. I give you the Shawnimals Moustachio Plush Brown from over at Kidrobot and the Shawnimals Pocket Stache Plush at Double Punch / Ningyoushi.

These remind me of the giant gloomy bear claws Voltageland used to stock in Vancouver… hopefully they’ll stand up better under your child’s pressure.

Something From The Wild Side

Tshirthell.com for all your offensive kids clothes needs.

Not all childrens’ gifts need to be for the child… particularly when they’re still young. Tshirthell.com is a less than politically correct online tshirt retailer with some great baby gear.

As far as I know the baby clothes are only offered as tshirts, which is too bad. Onesies, overalls etcetera would have been equally hilarious.

My favourite examples:
All Mommy Wanted Was A Backrub

Pooping In Progress

Daddy Drinks Because I Cry

Proceed deeper into the site at your own risk… things only get more offensive as you leave the kid’s area.

They used to offer some pretty offensive wrapping paper that would have rounded out the gift giving nicely… oh well, maybe they’ll reintroduce it in time for Christmas.

Test Post Using My Cellphone

And so the mobile phone blog posting begins. Bring it on!

So hopefully this will help accelerate posting relevance and frequency. I’m still weighing the relative benefits of direct web access via browser on the phone (thank you Skyfire), Blogger Mobile or Mail to Blogger.

If only Canadian service providers offered reasonable cell data rates. A pox on you Fido/Rogers… a smelly, festering pox.

More Etsy Items For Those Upcoming Kid Gifting Needs

I love plush animals that are a little on the weird side. Weird plush animals? I love strange stuffed beasts.

First up, another octopus / squid related item that any budding scientist will love… regardless whether they know what science is or not. Spencer the Squid is a great first step towards that epic job at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Frankly you might as well complete the set with Ollie the Octopus, Winston the Whale and Gertrude the Goldfish

Changing topics a bit you may want to reinforce the importance of a complete breakfast by introducing Bacon and Eggs into the mix.

Last but not least… for some reasons the plush stripes got me with this one. Petrie the sock Zebra looks nothing like a zebra, in fact he reminds me more of Eeyore the donkey from Winnie-the-Pooh.

Socktopus!!!! OMG, I’ll take 10

What's better than a sock puppet monkey? A sock puppet octopus. Welcome soctopus.

This is the best plush item I’ve come across in a very long time.
Sock puppets are cool, but so are octopuses (octopi? octopods? whatever). What could be better? Well, this Etsy seller took a hint from Reese and created a sock puppet octopus mashup and the result is Godly.

May I present… the Socktopus
